Coblence avocats has assisted the TransPerfect group, world leader in the supply of technological solutions for the audiovisual industry, in the takeover of the Technicolor group's post-production and special effects activities (MPC / The Mill) operated by Mikros Image, The Mill France and Technicolor Trademark Management.
The takeover was carried out within the framework of plans to sell the businesses of Mikros Image, The Mill France and Technicolor Trademark Management, companies in the Technicolor group, under the terms of three judgments handed down by the Paris Business Court on March 27, 2025.
The Technicolor group companies had previously been placed in receivership by the Tribunal des activités économiques de Paris, under the terms of judgments dated February 24, 2025.
Technicolor, a key player in the film, TV series and advertising industries, employed almost 5,000 people worldwide, and had developed strongly internationally before experiencing financial difficulties and successive reorganizations.
The proposed takeover of TransPerfect would preserve the majority of these activities in France.
