Can one take a stand on religious expression in the workplace?

Our partner Laurent Guardelli provides legal insight, noting that the applicable legal framework remains limited and broadly defined. He reminds readers that the principle of neutrality, often cited in such debates, applies only to public-sector employees. In the private sector, only an internal regulation clause can set boundaries on religious expression, without being able to prohibit it entirely.

He also highlights the challenges of managerial oversight in the era of remote work and the need for a clear framework, beyond ad hoc adjustments.
